A boutique marketing communications firm.
Strong believers in the power of brand marketing and good design, particularly in the specialized sectors of our clients, Speak Your Design advocates an integrative, long-view approach to communications planning. Many of our clients are story makers, and we help them tell those stories in ways that are relevant and memorable for their customers.
We also provide creative direction, managing the design and production of marketing campaigns, print collateral and digital media. We work with our expert network of designers, web developers, printers and fabricators to achieve the very best product for our clients, whether it’s a banner ad or an annual report.
Design, by definition, is not just about proportion and composition but also plan, intent and purpose. What’s your plan? How can we help you speak your design?
Owner and Director Jessica Thomas is a communications professional with a decade of experience in the arts and design. Jessica enjoys translating technical language into plain English, whether it’s archibabble, designspeak, academic prose or other highly specialized lingo.
She founded Speak Your Design in 2009, working with clients nationwide (and even a few abroad) in the arts, higher education, architecture. She has since expanded her client base to include select financial professionals who have their own distinct jargon systems (and communications needs) and who benefit from her keen eye for design.
Jessica has organized conferences, panels and lecture series in New York and Charlotte, and directed projects that span multiple institutions and borders, such as the North American premiere of Violins of Hope in 2012.
Jessica has graduate degrees in Art History, Theory & Criticism and Architecture and is LEED-accredited. She serves on the board of the Mint Museum’s Young Affiliates as Marketing/Partnerships chair. When not working or volunteering, you’ll find her taking or teaching dance classes in the Charlotte area or writing reviews for arts journal CVNC.org.
